BOOK FAIR: The Scholastic Book Fair is an opportunity in the Fall and Spring for students to view and purchase books and related items. Our Fall Book Fair takes place before Thanksgiving Break, and our Spring Book Fair takes place before Spring Break. Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down the event, as well as assist with book selection and sales. Day and evening shifts will be available.
BOOTS ON THE GROUND: Put on your Lucchese’s and help get some of the most coveted items for Cline’s Silent Auction! Work with a group of committee members to call on our community. Help price and enter item into bidding software.
CARNIVAL: Join Cline Elementary’s famous Clinefest Carnival – a fun-filled family event and a community tradition! Many volunteers are needed before and during Clinefest Carnival, from baked goods for our Cake Walk to setting up the Pie in the Face booth, from marketing Clinefest Carnival Tickets to selecting Clinefest Carnival Games & Rides – feel like a kid in a candy shop while manning the Mini Golf or giving out Grab Bags!
CLINE CARES: Be the liaison between the school counselor and PTO to determine needs for families within our Cline community.
CLINE REWARDS: This committee is responsible for managing and promoting Box Tops and Kroger Community Rewards, as well as sourcing other rewards programs.
CLINEFEST SHIRTS: Work with the Clinefest committees and graphic artists to help design our Clinefest logo and theme for next school year! Order from vendors then market via social media and during school events, including the promotion of our Clinefest Wear it Wednesday contest.
DECORATING: The Decorating Committee is responsible for seasonal decoration of the lobby and other special events. In December, the committee decorates a Christmas tree for the Share Your Christmas event for Friendswood PD’s Blue Santa program. The co-chairs are responsible for planning and coordinating the ideas. Volunteers are needed to help with decorating.
FIELD DAY: Field Day is an end of year event, coordinated by the co-chairs and the P.E. teachers, for students to participate in an outdoor sporting day of games and fun! Students rotate through a series of stations during their designated time outside. Volunteers are needed to run these stations. Be sure to volunteer for a time slot that your child is NOT outside. We want you to enjoy time with your child and volunteer when they are in class.
FUN RUN: For those who love to run AND/OR for those who just love FUN! Set up this highly anticipated race (or stroll) for Cline Ponies, Ponies-in-Training, and Ponies at Heart – it’s a party from start to finish!
GIFTS: The Gifts Committee is responsible for the distribution of several gifts to Cline throughout the year. Examples of these gifts are pumpkins for teachers at Halloween or gingerbread cookies at Christmas time. The co-chairs will be responsible for coordinating the gifts and volunteers will be needed for the distribution.
HOSPITALITY: The Hospitality Committee honors our teachers and staff with catered luncheons several times during the school year. The co-chairs are responsible for the planning and coordination of the luncheons. Volunteers are needed to help at the luncheons.
LOVE-A-THON: Cline Grant Love-A-Thon spreads awareness (and LOVE!) for Cline’s Teachers’ Grants. What better time than Valentine’s Day to spread the LOVE for authentic learning! Keep track of the big changes small change can make. Love-A-Thon begins in February and leads up to the FEF Gala.
RECESS BUCKETS: Take care of the Wellness & Recess equipment that our Cline Ponies enjoy.
ROOM PARENT COORDINATOR: The opportunity to assist all Cline Room Parents is here! You will be the central point of contact for all our Room Parents and Class Party Volunteers. Facilitate Class Party check-ins and help where needed on Class Party days. Please Note: Room Parent Coordinator CANNOT be a Room Parent for her/his child’s class due to help with check-ins and help where needed for ALL THREE Class Parties. One (1) year of Room Parent and/or Board experience preferred for this position.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES: The School Supply Committee raises money for Cline by working with 1st Day School Supplies, a one-stop shop for parents and teachers. The committee gathers supply lists, keeps track of kits ordered, then distributes each kit to students’ teachers before classes begin. Parents save time, teachers have supplies on hand, and students are ready to learn!
SCIENCE LAB COMMITTEE: Science Teachers – Check! Science Labs – Check! Parent Volunteers – Yes, please! Calling all Cline parents who want to be involved with our Cline Ponies’ Science Education! Our Science Teachers utilize our Science Labs with hands-on learning for our Cline Ponies. Help set up labs and assist students in running these experiments. Love of science is a bonus!
SILENT AUCTION: This committee works with the Boots on the Ground Committee to be a point of contact for donated auction items. They will enter in the auction item descriptions and pictures to the bidding software and manage the event once it goes live. After the event they will follow up with winning bidders.
SMALL FUNDRAISERS/SPIRIT NIGHT: The Small Fundraisers co-chairs coordinate “Spirit Nights” at local restaurants and businesses. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate and run these “Spirit Night” events throughout the year. Promote via social media, email, and flyers.
SOCIALS COMMITTEE: If you like to party then this is the committee for you! The committee chair & committee members are the point people for Cline parents that would like to host Socials. You’ll help social organizers to come up with dates and ticket pricing. In addition, you’ll promote the Socials via social media and word of mouth and manage the socials sales.
SPIRIT DAY COORDINATOR: The Spirit Day chair coordinates Cline’s monthly Spirit Days. Schedule teams from FHS Athletics, the FHS Choir, and the renowned Wranglerettes; to inspire our Cline Ponies to show their school spirit all day, every day!
SPIRIT STORE: The Spirit Store is responsible for the creation and online sales of spirit items and shirts for FISD events and Cline Spirit Days. The chair is responsible for the coordination of these tasks, while volunteers are needed for sale days and item distribution.
SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE: The Sponsorship Committee identifies key businesses within the community to sponsor large fundraising events. The volunteers work with the event co-chairs to determine sponsorship levels. The committee also works with a designer and printer for banners, signage, and brochures to display at the events and advertise sponsors.
STEAM Day: STEAM Day is a full day dedicated to learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Students will rotate through various stations throughout the day while enjoying energized learning. There are volunteer opportunities to help with STEAM Day Prep, and Parent Volunteers are needed for Lunch supervision of their child’s class. While many stations are teacher-led, parents are requested to be volunteers within the classroom to aid in student participation. Instructions will be provided to parents and parents will stay with their child’s class for the duration of their volunteer sign up schedule.
YEARBOOK: Create memories and join the Yearbook Committee; responsible for crafting our school yearbook. The chair is responsible for the coordination of picture taking during school events as well as creating the yearbook itself. Volunteers are needed to take pictures of the various yearly activities.
